Ric Scales is an MC who solidified himself as one of San Diego’s finest. Originally from Raleigh, North Carolina, he moved to San Diego in 2004 and quickly made a name for himself in freestyle battle rap. He linked up with producer/MC Ralph Quasar, who encouraged him to record and refine his craft. Ric went on to dominate the MC battle scene, winning Battlebot at The Casbah for five years straight.

Together, Ric and Ralph formed 18Scales, releasing six streamable albums to date. Beyond his music, Ric co-produces Slappin’ Hands with DJ Root, a monthly showcase for local talent.
