ReEducation’s emergence creates a new home that Hip-Hop artists and industry can embrace and support to give tribute to an ancestor/historical figure that has influenced their lives while simultaneously preserving their legacy and educating the next generation in an inspirational and impactful way. Each artist on the project creatively tells the story of a historical figure personified in their voice via a unique musical production. That track then gets used in the ReEducation educational curriculum around historical Black heroes. Concerts & tours, youth workshops, take home curriculum, traditional marketing, merchandise and content all round out the ReEducation ecosystem surrounding the musical content. Working to embolster the movement to provide equitable educational opportunities & resources for Black youth, Re-Education serves as a tool to further the already existing work around edutainment & culturally competent curriculum for scholars and activists to push the paradigm of how we educate youth of color in America in the present and future.
